CZ denounces rumor ‘widely’ spread on China’s WeChat

A MetaMask security analyst said the rumor was the “2023 adaptation of attempted market manipulation.”

BinanceCEO Zhao Changpeng "CZ" Zhao Changpeng denied a rumor that he was "shot" by US law enforcement agencies after he was "constantly developing" on a Chinese instant messaging software.

In a tweet on March 4, CZ responded to false speculation circulating on China's instant messaging service Wechat-claiming that the man had been shot and defeated by the FBI-and took the opportunity to strictly enforce the close working relationship between Ben Evan and the FBI.

He wrote the number "4" at the end of his tweet, referring to a post he released on January 3 about simplifying the 2023 target tweet.

He listed the fourth goal to remind us to ignore FUD (fear, uncertainty and suspicion), false news, and attack other distractions.

The first three purposes listed are dedicated to culture and education, compliance management and its products and services.

Not long after, CZ shared a tweet from a client and asked him, "Brother Pengo, did you hear he was shot by the FBI?" If this is true, you only need to nod and give a reminder [Chinese translation].

The client marked a paragraph on the screenshot that read: "Zhao Changpeng was shot by the Federal Bureau of investigation."

Harry Danley, a security investment analyst at MetaMASK, likened the incident to a false rumor spread in 2017 about Vitalik Butlin, the founder of Ethernet Fong, that the company was "killed in a car accident".

Daniel called the rumors about CZ "an adaptation of a vain attempt to manipulate the stock price in 2023" and called on CZ to "prove his life" with the latest BNB intelligent chain block hash.

It was announced in October 2022 that Binance.US had hired a former FBI agent, BJ Kang, and its research unit to crack down on illegal activities on the platform.

After being photographed by the dog arresting Bernie Madoff, Kuan was once described by the Associated Press as "the scariest man on Wall Street in the United States." Bernie Madoff was convicted of one of the biggest Ponzi schemes in history.

In the recent news, CZ and Binance.USCEOBrian Shroder received a letter from three US senators, Elizabeth Warren, Charles Van Hollen and Sapo Marshall, on March 1st, providing for more information about Binance's operations.

Lawmakers claimed that "a little information" about the operation of Binance showed that the trading platform was "a seedbed of illegal financial activities".
