Digital Currency Group is closing down its institutional trading platform subsidiary at the end of the month, following an unsuccessful effort to sell the business, according to people familiar with the matter. In recent months, DCG had tried to sell the platform for a few million dollars, some of the people said. "Due to the state of the broader economy and prolonged crypto winter, along with the challenging regulatory environment for digital assets in the U.S., we made the decision to sunset the institutional trading platform side of the business, known as TradeBlock," a DCG spokeswoman said in a statement.
