Fewer Than Half of New Ethereum Blocks Over the Past 24 Hours Are OFAC Compliant
For the first time since October, fewer than 50% of new blocks over a 24-hour period are OFAC compliant, partially thanks to more noncensoring options that make up a larger share of the blockspace market.
After the US government blacklisted Americans' Tornado Cash transactions in August, verifiers in the etheric block chain moved quickly to eliminate severely punished transactions. For many in the password industry, such a move was reprimanded as censorship-an immediate violation of the vision of a decentralized network that would not be subject to government intervention.
However, the current trend is moving in the opposite direction, and more sandstorm cash transactions are going through, even if they do not comply with U.S. Treasury regulations. Banned.
According to data from the MEV control page, only 49 per cent of the etheric blockchain blocks entered in the past 24 hours comply with the OFAC specification, which means that such blocks do not include transactions approved by the Office of Foreign property manipulation companies (Office Of Foreign Assets Control) of the US Treasury.
This is a significant reduction in censorship compared with the ether in the past. On November 21st, the ether set an all-time high for censorship, when 79% of Ethernet retweets blocked and eliminated OFAC-approved transactions. The last etheric review of blocks less than 50% was on October 16.
In other words, this means that more than half of the etheric blockchain blocks have been non-OFAC adaptable in the past 24 hours.
In that case, what reversed the ether review process?
MEV-Boost creates the problem of Ethernet censorship
Since Etherum changed its consensus mechanism to interest confirmation (called syndication) in September, most blockchain blocks need to be based on a message middleware component called MEV-Boost, which is an app that allows the verifier to request prefabricated component blocks from the builder.
MEV-Boost was born to assist the validator to obtain MEV, that is, greater use value, which refers to the benefits obtained by including or reordering transactions within a block.
This software is developed through Flashbots, the etheric R & D department, and aims to build MEV democracy among verifiers and circumvent the problem of centralization.
Flashbots has already made good use of MEV-Boost in all ecosystems, because today 96% of validators have passed blocks through messaging middleware. The company also operates its own wireless repeater, which is used by 68% of verifiers.
But after OFAC blacklisted American sandstorm cash transactions in August, MEV-Boost emerged with a series of new problems, usually reviewing rules and regulations.
As a result of blocking, wireless repeaters using MEV-Boost deliver only the pre-built blocks that do not include Tornado Cash transactions to the connected verifier. That is, MEV-Boost is reviewing blocks by default.
Has the vetting process been reversed?
The persistent efforts to facilitate the transmission of verifiers to other wireless repeaters that are not Flashbots have always been the key to reversing the progress of Ethernet review.
Today, 68 per cent of blocking is also done through Flashbot. As recently as December last year, the figure reached 74%. Before the business merger Flashbots gradually reviewed Tornado Cash transactions, it launched an open source system for coding so that others could develop their own non-censorship solenoid valves.
There are now seven broadcasters who will not be censored. It mainly includes two big repeaters of BloXroute (profit maximization and morality), ultrasound, agnosticism, manifold, Relayoor and Aestus.
George K ö ppelmann, the founder of Gnosis Chain and the promoter of containment censorship, said in a tweet that the reduction in censorship was due in part to BloXroute, ultrasound and Gnosis, which account for the majority of interior space in uncensored blocks. Gnosis Chain also operates a non-censorship live broadcast organization.
K ö ppelmann told WJB, I think this is good news, I am very happy to contribute, but I also believe that etheric censorship resistance should not depend on so few physical lines.
