The publisher behind the Final Fantasy video games is continuing its push into Web3 gaming through a new NFT project called Symbiogenesis.
Square Enix, a short video game giant based in Tokyo, is collaborating with the Polygon Internet to launch a personal collection of the art of game-based teaching. Square Enix has launched popular concessions such as final Fantasy and Heart of the Kingdom.
The project, called symbiosis, was announced in November. Symbiotic NFT series marketing and free browser services are scheduled to be launched in the spring of 2023.
According to a press release, the project will "provide a unique feeling that revolves around the art of personal collection of data, which is tied to the storyline that players will conduct on virtual (back and forth) expeditions. This kind of art evolves with every major step taken by gamers. "
Only three contestants who meet certain standards will be selected for the final "global responsibility", the company said.
These three special characters will determine the end of the story, the fate of the world, and everyone in the story.
This project will allow users to collect off-chain utility items, and they can choose to buy and sell on the chain according to Polygon.
Square Enix, launched in 2003, has been steadily marching into Web3. In a New year's message released last month by Yosuke Matsuda, the company's president and representative director, the company continued its efforts to enter blockchain games, promising to "actively invest and expand the market" in the blockchain gaming and entertainment industry.
As part of its 2023 strategy, the online game company said it had "developed several blockchain games based on original design [patents]."
Although players are still skeptical about blockchain technology integration, although the login password market is generally depressed, investment in the game Web3 continues to increase. According to statistics, in the third quarter of 2022, risky equity funds invested about $1.5 billion in companies based on Web3.
