LinksDAO wins bid to buy its first golf course, says CEO

The successful bid comes a month after 88.6% of LinksDAO token holders voted in favor of putting in a “compelling offer” for the golf course in its governance vote.

After bidding for the Scottish Spey Bay Golf Club, Links DAO, a golf startup run by a decentralized grass-roots self-governing organization (DAO), was prepared to become a new user of the Scottish Spey Bay Golf Club, with an initial price of just over $900000.

After winning the bid, DAO has reached an exclusive agreement with the merchants and announced the deal in early April.

In addition, DAO CEO Tony Dave pointed out in Twitter Spaces on March 16 that DAO was facing a "financial due diligence" session before signing the contract.

Although the initial listing price is more than $900000, a result of the golf summary shows that the final market price estimate is higher. Daily, chief executive of Links, said they were not prepared to disclose the transaction price until the contract was signed.

Links DAO was the biggest bidder, surpassing "some other potential customers", the report added.

Links DAO calls itself a "team of golf enthusiasts around the world" and undertakes the mission of "the best golf community in the world" for capital construction. In the community network vote, 88.6% of the 4300 Links DAO group members voted against it.

If the deal succeeds, it will be the first golf course acquired by DAO.

DAO is still scientifically studying the small details of the VIP construction of the football field, and has not yet determined what benefits will be offered to Links DAO token holders who are looking forward to visiting the golf course.

As for the current situation on the golf course, Basvinick called it "being able to play basketball."

"this is a good thing, it will get better and better soon, and it will be better for us at this time next year or next spring."

If the deal succeeds, DAO will continue to open the football field to the public until it is gradually renovated, Beswenick said.

Glover Basvinick, head of development strategy at Links, explained on Twitter that Links is seeking advice from several architects to reposition the golf course because he has been "affected by climate and corrosion problems in recent decades."

"optimized maintenance will greatly improve this site," he added.

In a group proposal to choose the course, Daily and Besvinick explained that the high restrictions and low prices of Scottish courses made it "too special to ignore".

"even if the price is three times the 'reference price', it is more cost-effective than most of the mediocre course content that you have identified abroad so far."

Cointelegraph was contacted for comment but didn't immediately get a response.
