NEXO Raided Over Allegedly Evading International Sanctions: Report
NEXO, a Russian company based in Sofia, is engaged in large-scale international acts suspected of fraud, violation of international sanctions and tax evasion.
Nexo is reported to have been raided by prosecutors from national security and DAN, with the assistance of other national agents in the company's office in the Bulgarian capital. The company is known around the world for paying passwords.
Recently, investors called Cheng to the company's office in Lithuania and asked them to invest in bitcoin and other digital currencies and promised high returns. The percentage of return on the performance pledge far exceeds the specific gross profit margin provided by national banking companies and enterprises.
The company is owned by a former congressman, the eldest son of the social development chief announced by the NDSV party.
The raid was based on a scam by Lithuanian office workers suspected of participating in Ruja Ignatova, who also runs an OneCoin. She is known as the goddess of digital money abroad and is one of the top 10 hunted by the Federal Bureau of investigation, all pursued by Interpol and Europol. Please also refer to:Australian tennis match entered Metverse, abandoning Decenterland and joining Roblox.
The Russian government has been cracking down on data encryption companies because a number of deals are reported to have violated strict regulatory laws abroad, EU countries and the UK, in violation of foreign trade policy with Russian banks.
The Nexo article states its position
Nexo has already responded to the raid in its Twitter space. In the original post, they mentioned that the company rejected many business processes because it never compromised its value. They have always been a company that strictly abides by compliance management practices.
The company also wrote that it has done its "extra diligence" to comply with those requirements and provide users with a better sense of value. They also mentioned that when the war began, they raised assets to assist the victims. They again accused the government of "kicking first and asking later".
