Network hackers hide malicious programs in fake NFT games
A fraudulent website that claims to offer NFT poker games under well-known Pokemon brands has been spreading malicious programs to unsuspecting players, a cyber security company has warned.
The site, which was online at the time of writing, also claims to offer a NFT marketplace, a link to buy tokens, and even a place to bet on NFT-all around popular Japanese news media concessions.
However, a branch of AhnLab, a Korean cyber security company, warned the public to pay attention to the site on Jan. 6, stressing that the software the customer actually downloaded was not AGAME, but a remote login tool that allows network hackers to manipulate his machines and devices.
The company warned that a method called NetSupport Manager would allow cyber attacks to remotely control a computer's mouse and keyboard, browse comprehensive document management and historical data, and even implement instructions that allow them to assemble other malicious programs.
It is suggested that people buy and install applications from the official website and cannot open the accessories in the abnormal e-mail address.
