The group is known to have targeted critical infrastructure, healthcare providers and more over the past two years.
According to Christopher Ray, the director of the US fbi, on January 26, the international inspection agency has already ended the notorious Hive cryptocurrency extortion software criminal gang. He claimed that since July 2022, the act has found more than 1300 keys for the victims and blocked the payment of 130 million dollars of ransom software. Officials cited an incident in which the law enforcement department thwarted the Hive ransom software attack on a Texas hospital, which saved the victim from paying a ransom of $3 million.
It is reported that on Wednesday night, the ghost network server was detained in the international law enforcement operations of foreign governments, the French police headquarters in Roytlingen, the United States Federal Criminal Police, the Netherlands National High-tech Crime Bureau and the European regional police agencies to track the ransom payment status, take it to the victims, and dismantle the network facilities.
Since July 2022, the organization has been infiltrated by undercover agents. As Wray often said, since then, the law enforcement department has "secretly and permanently" visited Hive's operation panel, and has been secretly assisting the victim to recover his assets and lock Hive's machinery and equipment that you don't know
Hive was behind a series of notorious blackmail software incidents, such as the hacker attack on Costa Rica's public health management and social security stock fund from April to May 2022. The organization has identified key digital infrastructure and requested to pay $5 million BTC (BTC) ransom to repair the service project. It is reported that in the first few days after the siege broke out, more than 4800 people missed the appointment of diagnosis and treatment. Despite successful enforcement actions, Wray also warned:
"Unfortunately, in the past seven months, it is not difficult to find that only about 20% of Hive victims have reported potential problems to the law enforcement department. Fortunately, we can still identify and help many victims who did not call the police. But this is not always the case. When the victims report the attack to us, we can help them and others."
