White House science office calls for comments on its digital asset research agenda

The office’s request for information is the latest piece in the massive research agenda in President Biden’s executive order on digital asset development.

President Joe Biden's government has once again formulated the research and development agenda of China's digital assets. The White House Office of the Current Policy Company for Science and Technology Progress (OSTP) issued an Information Content Request (RFI) on January 26 and viewed it in the Federal Register. Individuals or institutions can submit no more than 10 pages of evaluation before March 23

The White House announced the development of the agenda after it released the "first to date" comprehensive framework for responsible development of digital assets in September. The new agenda is part of a series of research activities on data encryption carried out by the executive regulation "Ensuring the responsible development of digital assets" released by the President of the United States in March.

RFI indicates that the agenda is committed to "building the overall diligence of government departments to develop digital assets and distributed ledger technology". It is also described as "continuing to support the research of transforming scientific and technological breakthroughs into new products ready for marketing" and "running basic research"

"Research and development (R&D) in this field is generally carried out in a decentralized manner, with limited consideration of the more comprehensive harm, application and downward pressure of basic innovation

With the basis of the Chip and Science Act in August, OSTP added a blockchain expert post. As part of the task, the company's office has verified and reported the impact of digital assets on the environment, and prepared a survey and analysis on the design of digital currency of the central bank, as part of the ongoing and still unclear consideration of the US digital dollar.

The response to Ban Ki-moon's comprehensive framework ranges from peaceful praise to thorough heartache.
